Peter Ransom, CIO, Oxfam

Peter has worked in a variety of engineering, IT and business roles for companies including Marconi, Centrica, BBC and most recently as Oxfam’s CIO. An internationally recognised expert in mobile computing field technology, Peter also has a wide knowledge of system architectures and has the ability to take complex problems and simplify the solutions. He has extensive experience in acting as the business interface of IS with responsibility for strategic and tactical investment plan development, benefit tracking and quality management, and has also won awards for his team building skills.

 

In his latest role as CIO at Oxfam, Peter’s key challenge is elevating the organisation to full IT capability, including satellite-linked operations in hostile environments, in the 82 countries in which it works. Peter is also driving through new technologies, such as cloud solutions, to meet business demands and lower operational costs.
