Chas White is the Senior Vice President for Data Centre Services at Tata Communications. He has worked with the company for five years and has been instrumental in the transition from VSNL, the national telephone entity in India, into Tata Communications, a managed services provider with offerings in the areas of managed security, hosting, colocation+, cloud services, and remote infrastructure management. Mr. White’s primary responsibilities are in the Managed Services Operations Centre in Chennai, India and due to Tata Communication’s global data centers footprint he also divides his time between India, Singapore, South Africa, the UK, and US.
Chas was educated as an electrical engineer but also holds a degree in International Affairs as well as an MBA. His professional experience, spanning 60+ countries, includes: President of White Associates R&D, LLC, a boutique executive services consulting firm which works with Boards to align the IT Portfolio with the Business Strategies; EVP & Global CIO/CTO of a $3.3B international consulting firm; International Partner and Global CIO at KPMG, based in Amsterdam; and CEO of a joint venture LLC owned by Cisco, Microsoft and KPMG Consulting. Mr. White spent 16 years in the AT&T family of companies in Engineering as well as R&D. In addition to these positions he serves on two corporate boards in the emerging technologies sector.
